    Geavity

    By sirsnapalot | July 30, 2009

I found a new site yesterday that might have some potential. It’s called Geavity, at www.geavity.com. The tag line is “What’s in your bag?” You set up a profile and list your camera gear, and then you can link up with other like-equipped photographers, as it has a social aspect to it. I’m going to try it out.  From there, you can get got for a little widget (several formats available) and put it in your social profiles on other websites.

One of my monikers is FiveStarPhoto, named after a Stock Photography site I recently started.

Not all equipment is yet listed, though the list is still pretty impressive. I’ve found that off-brands, like Phoenix (flash) aren’t included. And not all Sunpak flashes are included (I have a ring flash from them). But it’s a great start, and you can suggest new equipment to be added.

There are clubs you can join on the Geavity site as well, though as the site is in Alpha mode, it may take a while for this to build up critical mass.  It is interesting, though, as I’m wondering if I can share tips and tricks, or look for tips and tricks to learn how to eke more performance out of my camera.

Maybe I’ll post more on this in the future- it depends on what I get out of it.  Pretty cool so far, though.
